Domenico DiPietro was born Dec. 15, 1867. He married Mary Appugliese in Agnone on January 6, 1891. They had a son, Michele (Mike) and a daughter, Maria Giuseppa (Mary). Domenico immigrated to the United States on Oct. 21, 1890 aboard the Alesia to begin his life as a farmer in Pennsylvania. His name became "DePedro" probably due to a literacy/language issue. Domenico traveled back and forth to Italy and on August 2, 1900 he brought his son, Mike, with him to help on the farm he bought in Pulaski, Pennsylvania. He left his wife and daughter in Italy. Around 1904, Domenico's wife, Mary, died in Italy so he sent for his daughter, Maria Giuseppa.
