Frances Hearne High School Graduation

Frances was born Oct. 9, 1894. After graduating Lubec High in 1913, she taught school in first in Lubec:

She is listed on the World War I section of the Soldier's Monument in Lubec, Maine, along with her uncle, William Hearne (Civil War)

     

 

  Frances was also a bookkeeper on the submarine base in New London, Conn. around 1920 . She was probably there the same time her cousin, Bub Hearne, was stationed there. She went back to teaching school in New London in 1922. It was there she met Leroy Busbey.

  Around 1931, Frances married LeRoy White Busbey, Jr., son of LeRoy White Busbey Secretary to Joe Cannon and author of Uncle Joe Cannon The Story of a Pioneer American and Katherine Graves.

 LeRoy Busbey, Jr. was a graduate of Annapolis (class of 1918)

He was carreer US Navy, eventually receiving the rank of Rear Admiral during WWII before he retired.

They moved to San Francisco around 1940 and divorced while living ithere.

Frances died there on Sept. 21, 1950. She was buried in an unmarked grave at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, Calif.

LeRoy died Feb. 27, 1952 and is buried at the SF Presidio Cemetery.
